Beautiful Rock Village Monsanto
Monsanto, Protugal. The village is named after the mountain Monsanto and is known for being the most Portuguese village in Portugal in a sense that it has a long history and a unique cultural heritage. The place is marvelous and looks like from a fantasy movie.
The area was inhabited since Early Stone Age, but the village, as we know it today, was established in 12th century. The beautiful town is famous for carving parts of the buildings directly into the mountain’s rock – granite.
